Documentation: Electric torque multiplier of the future

Updated: Aug 1, 2021

With the new series of electric torque multipliers, alkitronic® goes one step further to offer state-of-the-art technology. The electric multipliers can be configured with a progressive and easy-to-use documentation system. The software package records tightening values allows reading via Bluetooth and documentation via the exclusive alkitronic® application.

In the age of Industry 4.0, more and more end-users, quality controllers and managers require automated documentation and traceability of measured values. A quick and easy transfer of correctly performed screw connections - as the electric torque multiplier from alkitronic® does - meets these requirements. Equipped with a documentation function, the tool is used, for example, when a high degree of precision and reproducibility is required for the fastening process and the subsequent checking of the specified fastening parameters.

"With the development of the EFCip series around this software package, our multipliers are state of the art. We simplify the documentation process for our customers, which saves them time and money," explains Silke Aigner, head of sales and technical support at alkiTechnik GmbH.

The subject of documentation is not new to alkitronic®, as the company has been developing documentation systems for many years. The new alkitronic® EFCip integrates the technology into the electronics of the tool. In addition, the user has all the data at a glance thanks to the alkitronic® application. The system records up to 500 operations, displays the mode parameters as well as the set and actual values, and evaluates whether the operation was successful. This not only guarantees perfect traceability but also security for every bolting operation. "The issue of security is of great importance. The software package guarantees that all screws have been screwed in with the correct torque or the correct torque plus the correct angle of rotation. You no longer have to trust that all the screws are tightened correctly, but you have proof of when and how they were screwed in," explains Silke Aigner. There are often many time-consuming regulations for manual documentation of torquing.

With this software, the customer gains peace of mind: a final document of the screwed connections serves as a guarantee and proof of the connection.
